    Vine growing up to 8 feet high. Grows in full sun to part shade and mesic to dry soils. Well-drained soils preferred and tolerates drought well. The species dies to the ground here and generally resprouts in the spring, although it may not survive extremely cold winters here. The white and purple flowers are fragrant and attract a variety of butterflies. Blooms from June to September
