Dalea purpurea - Purple Praire Clover
Perennial plant growing up to 2 feet tall. Grows in full sun to partial sun and medium to dry soil. Has a deep taproot that helps the species persist through dry conditions. Somewhat slow to develop, but once established it is relatively easy to maintain. Purple flowers occur in dense cylindrical heads at the top of flower stalks and blooms from bottom to top. Flowers are visited by a wide range of bees, small butterflies, and other pollinators. Blooms from June to August. Species: Dalea purpurea Pea Family: FabaceaeAvailable spring 2021
